Liberty, Mo. – The SBU Baseball team finished their series today against the William Jewel Cardinals as they looked to tie up the series. The Bearcats fell to the Cardinals 3-6, making them 9-21 (6-10 GLVC) on the season. 

Zeke Skinner kicked the scoring off for SBU with a double to allow Raydley Legito to run home to put the Bearcats on the scoreboard. The Bearcats remained scoreless until the top of the 9th, as they tried to make a late game comeback after Legito and Skinner recorded an RBI each to bring the score to 3-6. Unfortunately, it would not be enough as the Cardinals took the 3rd win of the series. 

Southwest Baptist will return home next week as they look to bounce back in the series against the Maryville University Saints. The first pitch is scheduled for Friday, April 5th at 5:00 PM at Dodson Field.
