Liberty, Mo. – The SBU Baseball team are back on the road as they face the William Jewell Cardinals for this weekend's series. The Bearcats fell in the first game of the series to the Cardinals Thursday night, 8-18. They move to 8-19 (5-8 GLVC) on the season.
Eli Smock started on the mound for SBU as he pitched for 4.0 innings with three strikeouts. Joe Brown would make his second appearance this season for the Bearcats before Kayden Lewis came in to finish the game.
The Cardinals took the early lead in the game before Zeke Skinner hit a three run home run to left field in the 3rd inning to get the Bearcats on scoreboard.
