St. Louis, Mo. - The SBU softball team remained on the road for more conference action this Sunday against Maryville University. Playing in their second double header of the weekend, the Bearcats moved to 11-21 (0-8 GLVC) on the season after falling to the Saints.
Emma Kreisel was on the mound in game one, pitching five strikeouts for the Bearcats. SBU recorded two homers in the game,
Margo Frossard had a two run home run in the 3
rd. Heading into the 6
th The Bearcats trailed 5-9 until they scored five unanswered runs. This was streak was capped off with an
Alyssa Reed three-run homer in the top of the 7th, to put SBU up 10-9. Reed was unable to secure the game winning hit, as the Saints scored two runs in the bottom of the 7
th to walk it off.
In game two,
Chloee Sams delivered on the Bearcats third home run of the day. She delivered on four RBI's on the day with her second homer of the weekend.
Kaitlyn Ragsdale also notably had three hits and one run, but SBU unfortunately fell 5-13.
Southwest Baptist will return to action this Tuesday at Home in Bolivar, Missouri. They will host Mission University in a doubleheader for the second time this season. First pitch will happen at 3:00 PM at the SBU Softball Field.
