Indianapolis, Ind. - The SBU Baseball team finished their series against the Indianapolis Greyhounds today. The Bearcats put up a good fight in the first few innings, but it would not be enough as the Greyhounds pulled away with a 3-10 win to make them 8-18 (5-7 GLVC) on the season.
Starting on the mound for the Bearcats was Khalil V'azquez Torres who pitched for 3 innings with three strikeouts. Roberto Garcia also took the mound for SBU as he delivered a solid performance with three strikeouts across 3.2 innings.
The Bearcats took the lead first at the top of the 2nd inning, but it was short lived as the Greyhounds responded with 2 runs of their own. Although the Bearcats tied the score 3-3, thanks to Justice Hinsley's single up the middle for his first two collegiate RBIs, the momentum was short-lived as the Greyhounds secured the series win.
Southwest Baptist now shifts their focus as they are back on the road next week for their series against the William Jewell Cardinals. The first pitch is scheduled for Thursday, March 28th, at 6:00 PM in Talley Stadium.
