Fort Smith, Ark. – The Bearcats were back in action this afternoon as they took on Arkasnas Fort Smith on the road. The bearcats handled the Lions with ease winning every match they played for a 6-1 victory moving to 2-5 on the season.
The Bearcats had to drop the #3 spot in doubles, due to injury but were able to come out on top in the other two doubles spots to secure the point.
Ghada Dirninger and
Elsa Pascual won at the #1 spot 6-1 and
Paula Ballesteros and
Giselle Garcia won at the #2 spot 6-4.
Ghada Dirninger at the #2 spot,
Elsa Pascual at the #3 spot, and
Giselle Garcia at the #5 spot all controlled their opponents winning in two sets. Ballesteros split the first two sets with her opponent each swapping 6-3, then she won the point 6-0 in set three.
Leticia Luiz also battled in her match at the #4 spot but came out on top in the third set 6-4.
Southwest Baptist will return to play next Friday as they travel to Northwest Missouri who are currently 17
th in the country. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm at the NWMS Courts.
