Box Score St. Joseph, Mo. – The SBU Women's Tennis team were back on the road today as they competed against the #25 ranked Northwest Missouri State. The Bearcats fell in a close match 3-4 making them 2-6 on the season.
Ghada Dirninger and Elsa Pascual dominated their match in the #1 spot winning 6-1. Paula Ballesteros and Giselle Garcia would also secure the win for the Bearcats as they won 7-5 in the #2 spot to give SBU the doubles point.
Ballesteros kept on dominating in the singles #1 spot as she won both sets 6-2 and 6-4. Pascual started off slow in her singles match as her opponent took the momentum early on. However, she would fight her way back to win 7-6 in the first set and 6-1 in the second set to secure the points.
Southwest Baptist will look to bounce back next Friday, March 15th, as they host the University of Nebraska-Kearney. This game will be played at John A. Bryant Tennis Center at 11:00 AM.
