Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU softball team took a break from conference action Tuesday afternoon as they hosted the University of Wisconsin – Parkside Rangers in a doubleheader. Bearcats fell in both games moving to 11-17 on the season.
In Game one,
Emma Kreisel started on the mound and threw a no-hitter until the top of the 4
th when Parkside hit a two run home run to break the scoreless game. The Bearcats would trail 0-5 before closing in scoring three runs, but it wasn't enough as they fell 4-9 at the end. Junior
Audrey Rahlmann had a big game going 3 for 3 including two RBI's.
Margo Frossard and
Emma Vincent also had an RBI in the game.
It was a bit tighter in game two, as the game was held scoreless again until the 5
th inning when Parkside took advantage of an error to score three runs. Bearcats brought the game to within one in the 6
th inning scoring two runs from Vincent and
Shalie Wooden.
Margo Frossard and
Alyssa Reed both led the team in hits each with two.
Southwest Baptist will return to conference play this coming Friday, March 22
nd. They will head to Missouri S&T for a doubleheader matchup beginning at 12:00pm.
