Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Baseball team was back in action today as they hosted the Parkside Rangers. The Bearcats fell to the Rangers 3-12 making them 1-11 on the season.
Starting on the mound for the Bearcats was Eli Smock who pitched for 5 innings and set a season high in strikeouts with 5. Kayden Lewis would finish the game as he pitched for the last 2.2 innings for 3 strikeouts. SBU got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the first inning after Sterling Jackson hit a single up the middle to let Zeke Skinner run home. Jackson was the only Bearcat to record an RBI on the game as he had two total.
Southwest Baptist will be back in action tomorrow as they continue their series against Parkside for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM at Dodson Field.
