Liberty, Mo. – The SBU Women's Basketball team traveled North to William Jewell looking to get back on track. The Bearcats avoided a season sweep against the Cardinals as they took care of them in dominant fashion winning 100-71. They move to 9-12 (5-10 GLVC) on the season.
It would be an overall team effort as 11 Bearcats made it onto the scoring column. Junior Tori Hamilton led the Bearcats going a perfect 7-7 from the field and 3-3 from the charity stripe. Hamilton finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Right behind her was sophomore Kristin Edmonds who contributed 16 points for the Bearcats to go with her 4 rebounds. Senior Karlee Holland went 4-7 from the field and the three-point line for 12 points against the Cardinals. Senior Milena Fromming was just one point away from tying her career-high as she put up 11 points with an impressive 75% shooting percentage.
Southwest Baptist will look to carry this momentum as they travel to Kansas City to face the Rockhurst Hawks in hopes to complete a season sweep against the Hawks, the first in program history. Tip-off is set an hour earlier than usual at 12:00 PM at the Mason-Halpin Field House.
