Kansas City, Mo. – The SBU Women's Basketball team finished their road trip today as they faced off against the Rockhurst Hawks. The Bearcats put up a strong first half performance but were unable to beat the Hawks as they fell 66-78 making them 9-13 (5-11 GLVC) on the season. 

In the first half, the Bearcats started slow but would improve in the second quarter as they were 53.0% from the field to help gain the lead before the half. In the second half, the Bearcats struggled to find their rhythm as they fell to the Hawks. The Bearcats were led by juniors Tori Hamilton and Bianca Oliver who both put up 11 points. Both Hamilton and Oliver were only a few rebounds away from a double-double as they recorded 8 and 7 boards respectively. Behind them was senior Kallyn Stumbo who had an all-around performance as she contributed 10 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Junior Khylee Massey also recorded a new career high with 8 rebounds to go with her 6 points. 

Southwest Baptist will be back at home next week as they start their weekend against GLVC mascot twin, the McKendree University Bearcats. Tip-off is set for Thursday at 5:30 PM in the Meyer Sports Center.
