Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU softball team hosted future GLVC opponent Lincoln University in a doubleheader this afternoon. The Bearcats fell to the Blue Tigers in both games moving to 5-9 on the season.
Game one required extra innings as the Bearcats fell in the 9
th inning 6-8.
Emma Kreisel pitched all 9 innings and recorded the loss as she moved to 3-2 on the season. She threw seven strikeouts and only had five earned runs. The Bearcat bats came in alive in this game as they hit four total home runs.

Lexi Detwiler, and
Maddie Romines each hit solo home runs in the game while
Alyssa Reed hit the teams' only two run homer. Detwiler had a team high three hits on the game.
In game two, the Bearcats fell 1-6 as
Paige Leithead started on the mound and pitched all seven innings recording five strikeouts along the way. Detwiler continued to shine in the game two as she recorded a hit and the teams sole run in the game.
Southwest Baptist will return to action this Friday as they travel to St. Louis. They will take on University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis for a doubleheader. The games are scheduled to begin at 2:00pm.
