Topeka, Kan. – The SBU softball team took on two strong opponents today at the Washburn Invitational. They lost both games on the day moving to 4-6 on the season.
In game one, they took on University of Sioux Falls and fell by a score of 1-10.
Shalie Wooden started on the mound for the Bearcats and pitched three innings, while recording the loss. Senior
Kate McConville led the team with two hits as well as scored the sole run for SBU.
In game two, the Bearcats took on the Ichabods from Washburn University for the second time this season. Southwest Baptist fell to the Nationally recognized team 0-13. In this game,
Margo Frossard led the team in hits going 2-3.
Kate McConville added to her hit total on the day with one more and
Emma Vincent also tagged along a hit.
The Bearcats will be back in action tomorrow for day 2 of the Washburn invitational. They will take on Minnesota State University – Mankato and Northwest Missouri State. The first game will begin at 12:00pm in Topeka, Kansas.
