Kansas City, Kan. – The SBU men's basketball team faced off against old West Division foe in Rockhurst University this afternoon. It was a classic back and forth battle between the two programs with 9 lead changes and 8 ties. The favor went against the Bearcats as the Hawks made the final basket with just seconds left in the game for a final of 69-70. The Bearcats move to 6-16 (2-12 GLVC) on the season.
Sophomore
Drenin Dinkins scored the game high 23 points recording his 7
th 20-point game this season. That is the most 20+ point games by a Bearcat sine 2018, when Logan Hovey had a total of eight. With six games left to go, Dinkins has a chance of breaking that mark.
Junior
Drew McMillin tagged along 13 total points off 50% shooting from the field. Fellow junior
David Hector scored 11 points and was two rebounds shy of a double-double, while scoring a career high seven free throws. The Bearcats continued to remain dominant on the glass as they out rebounded the Hawks by 12.
Southwest Baptist will return home to take on two of the conference best over the coming week. They will take on their GLVC mascot twins, the McKendree Bearcats on Thursday with a scheduled tipoff of 7:30 pm.
