Dinkins Season High 30 Points Leads Bearcats to Victory Over Truman

Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men' basketball team defeated the Truman State Bulldogs 84-75 behind a roaring student section Thursday evening. That moves them to 4-3 (2-1 GLVC) on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Truman's only lead was 46 seconds into the game at 3-2
  • A quick 8-2 run for the Bearcats gave them a 6-point lead after the first media
  • 8 straight Bearcat points from Drenin Dinkins put them up 18-9
  • SBU continued to go on runs extending the lead to 14, 10 minutes into the game
  • A three from Luke Ogle gave SBU their largest lead of the half at 17
  • Coming out of half with a 15-point lead, the Bearcats quickly grew that to 20
  • The fight wasn't over as the Bulldogs battled back to a 6-point deficit with 11 minutes to go
  • Despite having 4 fouls, Mitch Ganote came back in to give the Bearcats a spike; he played the rest of the game without fouling
  • Ganote contributed on the next 9 Bearcat points scoring 6
  • SBU closed the game making 9-10 free throws

  • Dinkins scored a season high 30 points with a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe
  • He shot 53% from the field and 57% from three while pulling down 9 rebounds
  • Despite limited playing time, Ganote recorded 17 points, three rebounds, four assists, and two steals
  • David Hector was one rebound away from securing a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds
  • Coming of his career game Luke Ogle brought in 20 big minutes scoring 11 points with 3-4 from three
  • Jevin Sullivan contributed off the point sheet recording seven rebounds and four assists
  • The team out rebounded the Bulldogs 38-25
