Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU football team fell to the Quincy Hawks 25-34 Saturday afternoon. That game moves the Bearcats to 2-7 (1-6 GLVC) on the season.
It was a game of back-and-forth play as the Hawks took the first lead of the game but the Bearcats answered back soon after tying the game at 7. Following an interception from JaHaad Fort interception,
Sal Caldarella found senior
Jordan Kent for a 70-yard touchdown pass to give the Bearcats lead. A
JaQuan Dorsey 1-yard rush in the final two minutes of the second quarter sent SBU with a lead into halftime. Back-to-Back touchdowns from the Hawks in the third put them in the lead the rest of the way.
Kent continued to extend his yards per catch record has he had 90 yards on two receptions, now averaging 26.5 yards per catch this season. On the defensive end, sophomore
Ricky Woodhouse had a standup game recording 15 total tackles, with seven of those being solo. He also recovered a fumble and ran it back for 75-yards giving the Bearcats a chance late in the game.

Southwest Baptist football will conclude their season next Saturday as they travel to Kirksville, Missouri to take on Truman State. The game will take place at Stokes Stadium with a kickoff at noon.
