Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's basketball team began GLVC play in stellar fashion with a 102-67 victory over Lincoln University. This marks the most points scored in a conference game since 1999 and the largest margin of victory also since 1999. The team now moves to 3-3 (1-0 GLVC) on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- SBU struck first and hard quickly taking an 11-point lead four minutes into the game
- Blue Tigers held it close, but the Bearcats went into have leading by 29
- Both teams continued to go back and forth as the Bearcats led 75-47 after three quarters
- In the first few minutes of the 4th, Eviyon Richardson knocked down three 3-pointers in the matter of minutes
- SBU finished the game reaching 100 points for the third time in coach Harrell's career
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Amber Storr led all Bearcats with 20 points; 87.5 % from the field & 80% from three
- She scored those 20 points in only 19 minutes played
- Tori Hamilton matched her with 18 points and 8 rebounds in 15 minutes
- Richardson scored an SBU career high 15 points off perfect shooting from the field, going 3-3 from beyond the arc
- SBU continued to control the glass out rebounding Lincoln 44-27
- As a whole, the team shot 51.5% from the field, the highest of the season.
