Fort Smith, Ark. – The SBU women's basketball team fell to the Lions of Missouri Southern 62-73 in game one of the UAFS Classic, moving the Bearcats to 0-2 on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bearcats took an early 7-2 lead
• SBU held that lead until two minutes left in the first quarter when they trailed 13-15
• Both teams continued to battle and went into half 27-25, Lions lead
• Bearcats trailed by as much as 13 but brought it back to two 54-56 off an and one from Amber Storr

 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• For the second straight game, Odett Schlegl led all Bearcats in scoring (17)
• Schlegl littered the stat sheet with four rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals
• Senior Tori Hamilton recorded her first double-double of the season
• Hamilton had 14 points and 10 rebounds; shooting 66% from the field
• SBU controlled the glass outrebounding MSSU 37-34
