Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's basketball returned home as they hosted University of Illinois-Springfield. The Bearcats battled hard but fell just shy of the victory 63-66, moving them to 5-13 (1-9 GLVC) on the season.
Sophomore Sasha Glushkov had a coming out game for the Bearcats as he scored a career high 10 points going 4-7 from the field. He was a perfect 2-2 from beyond the arc while pulling down five rebounds and blocking one shot. Sophomore Drenin Dinkins led the team in scoring with 21 points and gathering three steals. Junior David Hector scored seven points off a perfect shooting game, making both field goals and free throws.
The Bearcats will return to play on Saturday as they will host the Hawks of Quincy University. Tip off for the game is scheduled for 3:00pm in the Meyer Center. This is also the yearly Make-A-Wish game where our SAAC team is raising money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.
