Fayette, IA – The SBU Women's Basketball team finished their last game of the week against GLVC newcomer, the Upper Iowa University Peacocks. The Bearcats fell to the Peacocks, 63-72, making them 8-9 (4-7 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats were led by junior Tori Hamilton who had career game, setting multiple career highs along with her second double-double of the season. Hamilton finished with 21 points and 16 total rebounds, each career highs. She went 9-14 (64%) from the field to go with 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Senior Milena Fromming also had a stellar performance as she tied a few career highs by going 4-5 from the field and 4-5 from the three-point line for 12 points. Sophomore Kristin Edmonds would also contribute 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists for the Bearcats. Behind Edmonds was senior Kallyn Stumbo, who was three points away from her second double-double of the season, with 7 points and 10 rebounds. The entire Bearcat team was dominant on the boards out rebounding the Peacocks 51-30.
Southwest Baptist will look to get back on the right track as they host the University of Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars. Tip-off is set for Thursday, January 25th at 5:30 PM in the Meyer Wellness Center.
