Bolivar, MO. – The SBU Women's Basketball team finished off their weekend at home today as they hosted the Maryville University Saints. The Bearcats would take the lead early, but it would not be enough as they fell to the Saints 58-79, making them 8-7 (4-5 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats were led by Kallyn Stumbo and Odett Schlegl who each scored 10 points in the game. Stumbo put up numbers across the board shooting 80% from the field while recording 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Junior transfer Odett Schlegl also put up 10 points against the Saints going 4-7 from the field with 3 rebounds. Eight other Bearcats entered the scoring column on the day with juniors Bianca Oliver, Claudia Vanzant, and sophomore Kori Cromer leading with 8 points.
Southwest Baptist will hit the road next week as they look to bounce back against the Truman State Bulldogs on Thursday, January 18th. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM at the Pershing Building.
