Springfield, MO. – The SBU men's tennis team battle Northwest Missouri University in the battle of the Missouri Bearcats this afternoon. SBU came into the match ranked 18
th in the ITA poll whereas Northwest came in ranked 7
th. Southwest Baptist pulled off the upset defeating Northwest 4-3, picking up their second top-10 victory of the season, moving to 7-7 on the season.

SBU opened the match winning the doubles point with
Makary Adamek and Marco Silva collecting a big win over their 10
th ranked doubles opponent 6-1.
Alvaro Nunez and Yousef Nabil clinched the point the point with a 6-3 victory over their opponents.
In singles, Makary picked up his second win of the day defeating his 24
th ranked opponent 2-6, 6-4, & 6-3. In the #3 spot, Marco Silva gave SBU their third point of the match with a 7-6, 5-6, and 7-5 victory. Northwest would win two more points to tie the game at 3 forcing a final singles match to determine a winner. After dropping the first set, junior
Mikar Fisher came up clutch winning the next two sets giving him the singles point and his team the victory.
They will return to action tomorrow, March 17
th, as they host 41
st ranked Harding University at Cooper Tennis Complex. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM.
