Joplin, Mo. – The SBU baseball team played in game two and three of the season this afternoon as they took on Missouri Southern and St. Cloud State. The Bearcats fell in both games moving to 0-3 on the season.
In game 1, freshman
Jake Fuller made his first collegiate appearance on the mound, pitching five innings and recorded one strikeout. The Bearcats recorded their first runs of the season against the Lions off three hits.
Kyler Charchun, Trey Mungin, and
Ayden Fetters recorded the hits for SBU.
In game 2, the bearcats struck first recording three runs in the top half of the 1
st inning. Trey Mungin recorded the first triple of the season knocking in
Dean Hagenhoff. Zeke Skinnner recorded two RBI's off of a double in the same inning. Sophomore
Roberto Garcia made his first appearance on the mound as a Bearcat pitching two full innings allowing four earned runs and recording two strikeouts.
Southwest Baptist will finish off the weekend tomorrow afternoon as they play Missouri Southern for the second time. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
