Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU men's basketball team capped off 2023 as they hosted the Williams Baptist Eagles. The Bearcats extended their win streak to three as the defeated the Eagles 72-49 moving to 5-6 on the season.
 
Drew McMillin led all Bearcats in scoring with 18 total points shooting 50% from the field. He also pulled down three rebounds, dished out two assists, and two steals. Sophomore Drenin Dinkins had a near double-double scoring 11 points and pulling down seven rebounds, three being offensive. Nine other Bearcats entered the point column, including graduate student Mitch Ganote who returned to play scoring eight points along with five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
 
Southwest Baptist will kick off the year on Wednesday as they host the William Jewell Cardinals. The Bearcats have fallen to the Cardinals in their last two matchups, after going on a seven-game win streak against them. Tipoff for this GLVC matchup is scheduled for 7:30pm in the Meyer Center.
