Nashville, Tenn. – The SBU women's basketball team began their 2023 campaign this evening on the road against Trevecca Nazarene. The Bearcats fell short in the game falling 55-70, moving to 0-1 on the season.
 
Junior Claudia Vanzant led all Bearcats in scoring with 15 total points. She went 4-7 from the field and 7-8 from the charity stripe. Senior Kallyn Stumbo had strong showing for SBU scoring 11 points, pulling down five rebounds, dishing out five assists, and recording 2 steals.
 
The Bearcats will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon as they battle Kentucky Wesleyan. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
