Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU volleyball team competed in two games at home for the SBU/Drury invitational today. They swept both matches, going 2-0 on the day, moving to 3-3 on the season.

In the first game of the day, the Bearcats woke up bright and early to take on Lake Superior State at 9:30am. The early morning had no affect on them as they easily handled the Lakers winning 25-15, 25-18, and 25-23. Junior
Ashley Lasher led the team in kills with 9 for a .457 hitting percentage. Right behind her was Freshman
Ella Rademaker with 7 kills for a .462 hitting percentage.
Southwest Baptist carried that momentum into their second game of the day against Southern Arkansas. Their second sweep of the day came after beating the Muleriders 25-19, 25-18, and 25-18. The Bearcats continued to win as a team with nine different Bearcats recording a kill in this match. For the 4
th time this season, sophomore Azalea Clendening led the team in kills with 12. Rademaker continued to show her prowess with 4 kills and she led the team in solo blocks with 3.

I am honored to be chosen to state a quote to express my appreciation to Coach Hanger, Coach Goodman, and to my amazing teammates who swept not one, two teams today. I am beyond blessed to be a part of such an amazing program and to be able to make a different on and off the court."
The Bearcats return to play tomorrow for the final day of the SBU/Drury invitational. They will play in back-to-back matches with the first starting at 3:30 against Missouri Western. After they will take on GLVC opponent, Rockhurst University in a non-conference match. The Hawks come go into tomorrow with a perfect 6-0 record and have also received votes in the latest National poll.
