Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Women's soccer team competed against the Rockhurst Hawks in a conference matchup at home this evening. The Bearcats fell by a final score of 2-4 to move to 1-3-2 (0-1-1 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats trailed early and headed into half down 0-3. They continued to fight back with notching their first goal of the afternoon just 4 minutes into the second half. The goal came off a header from sophomore
Abby Harrison that just passed over the goal line. Harrison scored her second goal of the game just a few minutes later on a penalty kick. These were her first and second goals of her career.
"There was a big shift in momentum in the second half and it was easy to feed off of the team's energy." Harrison said "I am proud of the team's effort and wouldn't have been able to do it without all my teammates hard work."
The Bearcats continue conference play on Sunday as they travel up to William Jewell College to take on the Cardinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
