Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Clark, Strasser, & Harrison Score as Bearcats Draw the Cardinals

Liberty, Mo. – The SBU women's soccer team traveled to William Jewell College to take on the Cardinals this afternoon. The Bearcats ended the game in a 3-3 tie moving to 1-3-3 (0-1-2 GLVC) on the season.

"It was a fun game and a great learning opportunity." Head Coach Stefan Skillman said, "I am very proud to see our girls continue to fight back after giving up the lead."

The Bearcats struck first with Sophomore Abby Harrison scoring her third goal of the week off a penalty kick. Eight minutes later two freshman connected as Lydia Strasser scored off a cross from Abbey Klund, putting SBU up 2-0. Three unanswered goals by the Cardinals put the Bearcats on the verge of a loss with minutes to go. Junior and captain Brooke Clark ended all thoughts of a loss as she stuck on in the bottom left corner of the net to tie the game at three.

"I am so thankful to be a part of team that works so hard up until the last minute!" Clark said, "The overwhelming love and encouragement I felt after scoring is an exact example of what makes our team a family."

The family will work together to take on their rivals and undefeated Drury Panthers. The match will take place on their own home field this Friday, September 23rd with a scheduled kickoff at 4:00 PM.
