Kirksville, Mo. – The SBU women's soccer team began conference play today as they took on the undefeated Truman State University, who were picked 4
th in the GLVC preseason poll. The Bearcats defense recorded their second straight shutout and ended the game in a tie 0-0. That tie moves them to 1-2-2 (0-0-1, GLVC).

Stefan Skillman Said, "Ashlynn (Edison) and our defense getting a second clean sheet was great especially against a team that does not concede goals easily either."

Kendal Weiskopf and
Madison Geren who each played the full 90 minutes with only allowed one shot on goal.
"I am so proud of this team!!" Junior Geren said, "Truman is such a great opponent, and they were a really good opportunity for us to show what we have been working so hard for. We take a pride in getting another shutout and plan to continue that streak. We came out strong and I can't wait to see what we can accomplish the rest of the season. Roll Cats!"
With this tie, the Bearcats earn 1 point towards the conference standings. They will take that point and return home where they will play Rockhurst University on Friday, September 16
th. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM at the SBU Soccer Field.
