Lebanon, Ill. -Â The SBU Softball team traveled to Lebanon, Illinois to take on McKendree University in a GLVC doubleheader this afternoon. SBU fought hard in both matches but fell in both moving to 6-22 (0-10 GLVC).

In game 1,
Emma Wood started on the mound for the Bearcats and started out with two scoreless innings. After allowing two runs in the bottom of the third,
Alissa Collette came in and shut out McKendree from there. SBU remained scoreless until the sixth inning where
Margo Frossard tripled scoring
Abby Henson from first base.
Renae Gillmore,
Meadow Vassar, and
Kennedy Griffin recorded hits in the game along with Frossard and Henson.

SBU got on the scoreboard first in game two with
Abby Henson singling up the middle to score
Renae Gillmore. They held that 1-0 lead until the bottom of the second where McKendree knocked in three runs. SBU would fall by a final score of 2-5.
Reilly Rupert was the starting pitcher allowing two runs while striking out two batters in her 2.1 innings. Eight SBU players recorded hits in the game with Henson and Frossard recording the only two RBI's

The SBU softball team returns to action tomorrow as they travel just a little West to take on the University of Missouri – St. Louis Tritons. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
