Women Complete Comeback to Win, Men Lose by One at Washburn

The men's tennis team fell 4-3 at Washburn Friday afternoon.
Alvaro Nunez and
Youssef Nabil moved to 5-2 on the year at doubles, winning 7-5. However, Washburn secured the doubles point right with wins at the 2 and 3 spots. The Bearcats made it a tight match through singles, winning three matches at the 2, 4, and 5 spots, but the Ichabods also won three matches to lock the win.
Makary Adamek recorded his 5
th win at singles in the 2 spot while
Alvaro Nunez reached 4 wins at the 4 spot.
Carlos Corser won the 3
rd singles match for the Bearcats at the 5 spot, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.

After being swept in the doubles matches, the Bearcat women's team fought back in singles and won 5 individual matches to get their 5
th team win of the season. (3)
Paula Ballesteros won her team leading 8
th match while (1)
Diana Cabrera won her 7
th match of the season. The other three wins came from (3)
Elsa Pascual, (4)
Ghada Dirninger, and (5)
Lola Cincunegui.Â

The women's team returns to action on Saturday, March 26 against Division I opponent Missouri State at Cooper Tennis Complex.
