Box Score 2 Women's Tennis Outlasts Southern Arkansas; Men's Tennis Falls to #15 Muleriders
In a marathon match,
Lola Cincunegui clinched a victory at 5 singles to help the lady Bearcats beat Southern Arkansas 4-2. After losing the doubles point, the ladies had to fight back during singles to get the victory.
Diana Cabrera had the shortest match of the day at the 1 spot, winning 6-2, 6-3. (2)
Paula Ballesteros and (3)
Elsa Pascual secured the other two wins for the Bearcats. Ballesteros lost the first set, but bounced back winning the next two 6-3, 6-4. This was Ballesteros team winning 10
th win of the season. Pascual also went three sets after losing in a tiebreaker in set one.
Men's tennis played several tight matches against #15 Southern Arkansas Friday afternoon but fell 4-1.
Alvaro Nunez and
Youssef Nabil won their sixth match of the year at the number one doubles spot and Nabil continued his stellar season, winning his 8
th singles match at the three spot. Nabil defeated Marko Nikoliuk who is currently #16 in the ITA national rankings.
Both teams open GLVC play tomorrow at home against Drury. Matches are set to begin at 11:30 am.
