Edmond, Ok. – The SBU softball team took on Nationally ranked Oklahoma Christian in a single game this afternoon. Bearcats would have a 7-4 lead heading into the bottom of the 6
th but were unable to hold that lead and fell to the Eagles 7-9. Bearcats move to 6-18 (0-4 GLVC) on the season.
"We had a great game against a top 25 team, who had to throw all of their pitchers to beat us, we want the win but the girls are showing their continued growth. We can't wait to get back to conference play on Saturday."-Head Coach

The Eagles would strike first scoring two runs in the first inning with
Emma Wood on the mound. The very next inning Freshman
Margo Frossard would continue her impressive week by hitting a home run over the right field fence. Bearcats would score one more run to tie it up in the 4
th, but the Eagles scored two in that same inning causing SBU to trail 2-4 heading into the 6
th. The Bearcats scored 5 runs in that inning, with three of those coming from
Abby Henson's bat where she double to left center with the bases loaded. Despite strong offensive play in the 6
th by the Bearcats, the Eagles fought back and scored 4 in the bottom half to win 7-9.
Seven different Bearcats recorded hits in this game with
Rylee Lunn and Kaitlynn McConville each leading with two. Henson had a career high three RBIs off her one hit today.
Bearcats return home and return to GLVC play this weekend as they have doubleheaders against Lindenwood and Maryville. They begin against the Lions on Saturday, March 26
th, with first game scheduled to begin at 1.
