Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's basketball team returned home this evening to take on the Missouri Baptist Spartans. A strong fourth quarter from the Bearcats put them on top 59-47. That win moves them to 4-6 on the season.
"I thought our team played tough." Head Coach
Kelsey Keizer said "The key thing that I thought, our team did down the stretch was rebound the ball better. That helped give us second chances to get more offensive looks and helped us keep them off the boards in the second half to cut down their chances as well."
As a team, the Bearcats dominated the Spartans on the glass out rebounding them 41 to 21. Junior
Victoria Hamilton led the team in both points (11) and rebounds (12) recording her first career double double. She went 4 of 10 from the field and a perfect 3 of 3 from the charity stripe. Sophomore
Kelsey Blakemore and freshman was second on the team in scoring each with nine points.
The Bearcats will return to action this Saturday as they take on conference opponent Truman State Bulldogs. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
