Lady Bearcats End 2022 With a Broken Record

Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU women's basketball team had a record-breaking Saturday as they played host to the Hannibal LaGrange Trojans. The Bearcats dominated the game winning 107-44. That win moves them to 6-6 on the season.

"We wanted to run in transition, we wanted to push the ball up quickly, we wanted to get our shooters open, and I thought we did a nice job of that." Head Coach Kelsey Keizer Said, "It was good to build some kind of confidence on the offensive end for us and have a fun game…It was fun to be in a game environment where they could compete and make hustle plays and work as a unit and put some things together that we have been working on."

The Bearcats broke a program single game record with 19 made 3-point field goals. This broke the previous record of 16 that was also against Hannibal LaGrange. Freshman Kori Cromer and Kristin Edmonds led the team with 4 three's; Emma Perry and Karlee Holland each had three. The Bearcats also had a season high 24 assists.

They will return to action this Monday, January 2nd, as they host Cottey College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
