Quincy, Ill. – The SBU men's basketball team took on Lake Superior State in a Midwest region matchup today. The Bearcats remained undefeated in non-conference play as they took down the Lakers 80-62. This moves them to 8-3 on the season.
"Thought our guys played well and executed for closer to 40 minutes." Head Coach
Clark Sheehy said, "Thought our defense at stretches looked closer to what we are after."
Sophomore
Drew McMillin tied his career high in points today scoring 20 off seven fields. He went an impressive 6-8 from beyond the arc, a career high in three pointers made. McMillin also tagged along four assists, four rebounds, and two steals.
"It was good to see Drew hitting some 3's and thought we got contributions from a lot of different guys which we will need." Sheehy said.
Sophomore
Ryan Stevenson also came off the bench scoring nine points off four field goals. Senior
Mitch Ganote notched his third double-double of the season today with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists.
The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they play the Phantoms of East-West University. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
