Nashville, Tenn. – The SBU Men's basketball team began their season today as they took on Grand Valley State University. The Bearcats trailed by as many as 16 team but rallied together and came back to claim the victory 85-82. Their 5
th straight opening night win moves them to 1-0.

th year starter
Quinn Nelson. Starting in his 109
th game as a Bearcat, he tied his career high with 27 points today. Nelson led all players with seven threes on the game. Redshirt freshman
Noah Franklin and true freshman Drenin Dinkins made their debuts in spectacular fashion today. Franklin scored 14 points on 7 baskets with five rebounds. Dinkins scored 14 points in the first half and finished the game with five rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal.
The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow as they take on Ferris State University. The Bulldogs appeared in the NABC coaches' poll with 33 votes, compared to the Bearcats 11 votes. The match has an expected tipoff of 1:00 PM.
