Kirksville, Mo. – The SBU football team began a three-game road trip as they competed against the Truman State Bulldogs this evening. The Bearcats fell to the Bulldogs 20-25 moving them to 3-4 (1-2 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats scored the first touchdown of the game on a 15 yard pass from
Cooper Callis to Marcus Manuel, right before the end of the 1
st quarter. Callis would throw his 2
nd touchdown of the game 10 minutes later this time to
Kylan Herrera. SBU wouldn't score again until the final seconds of the game off Callis 3
rd touchdown of the game.
Callis finished with 240 yards and three passing touchdowns connecting with three different wide receivers.
Jordan Kent led the team in receiving yards with 72, shortly followed by
Kylan Herrera with 54 yards.
Abel Carter rushed for 114 total yards today, his most in three weeks.
The Bearcats will return to action next Saturday as they travel to Tarleton State to take on the Division I Texans. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 PM CST.
