Box Score Stephenville, Tx. – The SBU football traveled to Tarleton State University this evening to take on Division 1 opponent the Texans. The Bearcats fought hard but fell in the end 10-24. That moves them to 3-5 on the season.
 
Both teams scored on their opening drive of the game with the Bearcats getting a seven-yard touchdown run from Junior Abel Carter. Those seven yards were but 75 from him on the game. Cooper Callis completed 21 passes for a total of 226 yards, with Curtis Cuillard being his number one target with five catches for 73 yards.
 
It was a Bearcat defense who stayed strong throughout the game only allowing 298 yards from the potent Texans. Three Bearcats finished the game with double digit tackles. Coleton Smith led the way with 12 total and six solo. Matt Lockard was right behind with 11 total tackles and seven solo.
 
The Bearcats will finish up their three-game road trip next Saturday as they take on McKendree University. The match will take place in Lebanon, Illinois at Leemon Field with an expected kickoff of 1:00 PM.
