Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Volleyball team hosted the Missouri St. Louis Tritons in a GLVC matchup this afternoon. The Bearcats fought hard but fell to the Tritons 1-3, ending their three game winning streak. That moves them to 10-7 (3-2 GLVC) on the season, currently in a 5-way tie for 3
rd in conference standings.
Both teams traded off points in set one, with neither team leading by more than 3, but the Bearcats fell by 23-25. The Tritons continued to control the game in the second set winning 17-25. In set three, the Bearcats showed their heart where they trailed 16-22. They then scored 9 straight points off four aces by
Aleena Peterson to take a set off of the potent Tritons. SBU led early in set 4 but couldn't complete the comeback falling 18-25.
Junior
Loran Pritchett had another dominate game with 16 kills, 10 assists, 3 serving aces, and 4 blocks on the day. Freshman
Bailey Lasater had her fifth straight double-double with 24 assists and 10 digs.
The Bearcats will return to action this coming Thursday for a non-conference matchup against Baker University. It is Cats vs Cancer night where the SBU Bearcats and Baker Wildcats will join together to fight against cancer. It will take place in the Meyer Wellness Center with an expected start time of 6 PM.
