Indianapolis, Ind. – The SBU football team opened conference play today against #14 ranked University of Indianapolis. The Bearcats fell to the Greyhounds with a final score of 17-44. This moves SBU to 2-3 (0-1 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats held tightly to the undefeated Greyhounds in the first half, going into halftime down 7-23. Out of half, the Bearcats got a big 4
th down stop and scored on their first offensive possession of the second half to make it a 14-23 game. The Bearcats couldn't complete the comeback with only scoring a field goal the rest of the game.
Senior Quarterback
Cooper Callis threw for 241 yards on the game, throwing a touchdown and rushing for a touchdown.
Curtis Cuillard led the team in reception yards for the second game in a row, today with 65. Senior
Coleton Smith tied his season high with 11 total tackles on the day with 8 solo tackles.
The Bearcats will return to Bolivar for their homecoming game next Saturday October 8
th. They will take on the William Jewell Cardinals, whom they defeated 55-10 last year. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 PM.
