Box Score Bolivar, Mo. – The SBU Football team hosted William Jewell College in their homecoming game this afternoon. With a fully filled stand from the Bearcat faithful they defeated the Cardinals by a final score of 44-21. That moves them to 3-3 (1-1 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats opened the scoring with a field goal from Freshman
Logan Turner, who would hit two more field goals throughout the game.
Cooper Callis had a back-to-back GLVC Offensive POTY type of performance leading the team in passing yards and rushing yards. He had 451 passing yards, second most in his career, along with 4 passing touchdowns. He also led the team with 71 rushing yards and had 42 yard rushing touchdown.
The Bearcats will now travel to Kirksville to take on their up and coming rivals of Truman State. The Bearcats upset the Bulldogs at home last season winning 27-21. The two teams will battle on Saturday October 15
th with a scheduled kickoff of 6:00 PM.
