Evansville, IN- The SBU Men's Basketball team finished up their two game road trip against Southern Indiana this afternoon. Big three pointers down the stretch gave the Bearcats a 65-61 win. That win boosts them to 10-2 (4-1 GLVC) on the season.
The Bearcats started with an early 9-2 lead but that gap was quickly closed by the Screaming Eagles. SBU would struggle the remainder of the half going into the locker rooms trailing by 10.
Coming out of break the Bearcats fought back and a three pointer by
Quinn Nelson tied the game up at 33 with just under 14 minutes left in the game. After trailing by three with under 4 minutes to go, Bearcats would hit three straight 3's from R.J. Crawford,
Quinn Nelson and
Jalil Beaubrun. That run would propel them to a 65-61 win.
Jalil Beaubrun would lead the scoring for SBU with 17 points for his 10
th straight double digit scoring game. Three other Bearcats would score double digits in
Quinn Nelson,
Mitch Ganote, and R.J. Crawford. The Bearcats will be back in Bolivar on Thursday January 13
th where they take on the Rockhurst Hawks. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30.
