Springfield, Mo. – The SBU Women's Soccer team was just south of their home turf Sunday afternoon, taking on the Drury Panthers. The match ended by a score of 3-1 in favor of the Panthers, making the Bearcats record 1-4-1 (1-3 GLVC) for the season.
Getting on the attack early, SBU was able to break the scoreless tie and take the lead of the game with a Raegan Edwards goal on an assist from Maya Cofield. The Panthers responded and made the score 1-1. Later in the game, Sophia Lanzafame took a shot, but the ball was out top left. The Panthers score twice more, making the final 3-1. In goal, Ail Harrington made 5 saves for the Bearcats.
The Bearcats will be returning home for their next game after this short road trip. They'll take on the Lindenwood Lions on October 1st at 5 PM.
