St. Louis, Mo. - After starting the season 4-0, the SBU Volleyball team found themselves riding a losing streak despite some extremely close matches. That streak was broken Friday evening as the team defeated Maryville University, 3-1. The Bearcats improve to 5-6 (1-2 GLVC) with the win.
The first set went to SBU by a strong score of 25-17. Their momentum carried over into the second set, squeezing by 25-22. Bouncing back, the Saints took set three 25-16, but SBU handled Maryville in the fourth set 25-14 to take the match 3-1.
Loran Pritchett had another double-double, recording 32 assists and 10 digs.
Rachel Francis led the kills column with 16 on the night.
Azalea Clendenning also had 10 kills and 3 blocks to go with it.
Aleena Peterson had a match-high 15 digs.Â
SBU's road trip continues Saturday with a 3:00 PM match against the Lindenwood Lions in St. Charles.Â
