Bolivar, Mo. - SBU Volleyball continued their two-game home stretch with a Saturday afternoon match against Indianapolis. Despite the 3-0 victory by the Greyhounds, each set was very close. The loss puts SBU at 4-6 (0-2 GLVC) on the year.
The first set saw streaks of back and forth action from each team. SBU had a 24-22 lead when UINDY forced extra points. They went on to win the set 28-26. The Bearcats found themselves down 13-10 when UINDY went on a big streak to take a 22-10 lead. Not giving up, SBU battled back but fell 25-18 in set two. Set three was just as close as set one, as the Greyhounds took a 25-24 lead but the Bearcats evened things up at 25 each. However, UINDY scored the next two points to take the set 27-25 and the match 3-0.
Rachel Francis led the team again with 12 kills. She also finished with a match-high 6 blocks. Loran Prtichett's 18 assists and
Aleena Peterson's 14 digs were also team highs.
SBU will begin a four-game road stretch, opening at Maryville University on September 24 at 7:00 PM.
