Liberty, Mo. - The SBU Women's Soccer team opened conference play Sunday afternoon at William Jewell. In the GLVC opener, the Bearcats defeated the Cardinals 1-0 to pick up their first win of the season. With the win, the Bearcats record is 1-1-1 (1-0 GLVC) for the season.

The Bearcats wanted to make statement early, getting off a good amount of shots at the beginning of the game. Within 6 minutes left in the first half, Raegan Edwards found the back of the net with an assist from Madison Geren. More shots came with the help of Lexi Lanzafame, Madison Eads, Allyson Lieber, and Sophia Lanzafame. Ail Harrington made sure the Cardinals did not score, making 5 saves in the game.

SBU returns home to take on the Rockhurst Hawks on September 19 at 12:00 PM.
