Midland, Mich. – In their first match of the regional tournament, the SBU men's tennis team handled #28 nationally ranked Ferris State with ease. The Bearcats handed the Bulldogs their first loss of the season, taking the match 4-0.

Adham Gaber was the first duo to finish, taking court 2 by a score of 6-3.
David Szeri and
Alvaro Nunez then clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 victory on court 3.
The #6 ranked player in the nation,
Adham Gaber, defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-0 on court 1 to give SBU a 2-0 lead.
Max Sanoja then won a big match on court 6, 6-1, 6-2 to bring the Bearcats within one point of a victory. The victory was sealed on court 3 when
Alvaro Nunez handed his opponent a 6-4, 6-0 loss to make the score 4-0.
The regional championship will feature a familiar matchup, as the Bearcats will meet the Indianapolis Greyhounds on Monday, May 10 at 10:00 AM CST. Most recently, SBU defeated UINDY 4-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship.
