Romeoville, Ill. - After winning their first match in the GLVC Championships on Friday, the SBU women's tennis team continued to roll on Saturday. In the Semifinal Round, the Bearcats defeated the Drury Panthers 4-0 to punch their ticket to the GLVC Finals. 

Diana Cabrera and Lola Cincunegui got things going with a 6-2 victory on court 3 of doubles play. The Panthers evened the doubles score at 1-1 after winning court 1, but Catarina Zheng and Elsa Pascual won an exciting match on court 2, 7-6 to earn the doubles point. 

The second point was given to SBU after Constanca Crespo was up 3-2 on court 3 when her opponent retired. Elsa Pascual followed with a dominating 6-0, 6-3 victory on court 5, and Lola Cincunegui clinched the victory with her 6-4, 6-0 win on court 6. Dona Abohabaga was up 7-5, 5-0 on court 1, Diana Cabrera was ahead 6-4, 5-1 on court 2, and Catarina Zheng was tied with her opponent 6-4, 1-6 when the match was called.

The team will meet #1 East Seed Indianapolis in the GLVC Finals which will take place on Sunday, May 2 at 9:00 AM.
