Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist played a close game against Illinois-Springfield but came out just short in a 2-1 loss.
The Bearcats gave up a goal in the 31st minute but responded in just 30 seconds when
Rocci De Felice found Regan Edwards just outside the 18 yard box for a one timer to the upper corner of the goal. A late goal by the Prairie Stars would sink the Bearcats in a hard fought battle.
Alexis Hale led the Bearcats in shots with 3 on the game along with
Lexi Lanzafame having 2 shots.
Ashlyn Gibbs got the start in goal for the Bearcats and finished with 4 saves and several key clears.
The Bearcats will be back on the road on April 9 when they travel to face Quincy.
