Bolivar, Mo. – Southwest Baptist faced off with William Jewell for a home doubleheader and came out just short in both with a 1-0 and 5-1 loss in the two games. The Bearcats record is now 2-24 for the season.
Game One
Reilly Rupert got the start in the first game and had a stellar start with 10 innings pitched and 11 strikeouts with only 3 walks. The game went into extra innings and was extended into the 10
th inning when Rupert struck out the last batter with the winning run on third. William Jewell would score the deciding run in the 10
th inning.
Alissa Collette and
Madison Coone each had a hit for the Bearcats in the game.
Game Two
William Jewell would hop out in front in the first inning, but Southwest Baptist responded when
Izzy Harrison was driven in on a
Katlynn McConville sacrifice fly. The Cardinals would score four more to get the win 5-1 in the end.
Emma Wood pitched the complete 7 innings with 4 strikeouts and only having one earned run.
Izzy Harrison had the lone hit for the Bearcats which resulted in a run.
The Bearcats will be back in action on April 10 when they host Missouri-St. Louis for a doubleheader.
